Joy and Strength (Christian life and music)

At any given moment during any day, there is always someone or something vying for power, authority, or control over our senses. This may sound extreme, but it is true nonetheless. When we belong to Christ, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us.  Jesus promises us that the Holy Spirit will help us always.  The Holy Spirit also comforts us.  The Holy Spirit reveals truth and provides wisdom.  With all of these gifts of the Spirit (and there are more), how is it that we still stray from God? Our emotions can lead us astray.  Our thoughts can lead us astray.  Both of these are gifts from God, too.  But left unchecked, or if we give into unrighteous ones, in that moment, they reign over us! When we see Jesus as Lord - over it all - we are free from being controlled by anyone or anything else.  If we are in the habit of giving in to negative emotions or thoughts, or if we have conquered them but they still rear their ugly heads occasionally, that...

God is in control.  God’s got this. You may have heard, read, or even said these words yourself. Yet do we really believe this when surrounded by tumultuous circumstances? Why hasn’t He intervened yet? He is waiting for us to stay at rest in the midst of it. To hold our peace no matter what.  He is training  us, kiddos. He is waiting for us to stop arguing, reasoning, defending and going around the same mountain of crazy that can never be fixed by these things like reasoning and trying to figure it out; not in a million years. Let's do our best to learn what God is trying to teach us, do in us, so that He can step in and do what only He can do! We do out part so that He can do His.  When we team up with God, miracles happen!  Or at the very least, we get through the day with His love and joy in our hearts instead of disarray, confusion, or stress.  Sign me up! If I gave you a list of all the things that you are to entrust to the Lord, it would go on forever.  Now I could easily sum it up in one overarching way - trust Him with yourself.  But what does yourself include?
