Do we really believe Jesus?
We lack nothing when we belong to Jesus.
Everything we need, He supplies. Always.
But in my experience, one of the temptations we face from the enemy is he attacks this very truth. The enemy tries to convince us through his lies that we are missing something; that we lack something. It could be anything. His tactics have not changed since Eden. He tries to get us to doubt God and His provision and goodness.
God always provides exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. Do you really believe this about Jesus?
I am not talking simply about finances here. I am referring to everything that we are tempted to worry about, whether it be relationships, good health, or anything else that we are struggling with.
I am here to reassure you that if you are a child of God, you are never lacking or wanting for anything.
Now you may be experiencing a seeming lack. But God promises us in the very well-known Psalm 23 that we lack nothing. That about covers it!
So when we feel a lack, we simply turn to Jesus and believe Him, His promise to us. We rest and be still in His Presence and let Him reassure and comfort us that in Him, we indeed want for nothing. And we can stop dwelling on what seems to be lacking and dwell instead on all that we possess in Him.
If there is ground that the enemy has taken or stolen from us, even this is either allowed or orchestrated by God Almighty. And He could restore it all in an instant.
When we focus on all the riches we have in Christ as His co-heirs, we are immediately in a relaxed state of mind. We know that we know that we know that we can trust Him.
Need a miracle? If you truly do, God can provide one.
Need an answer to a prayer? This is not beyond our omnipotent God.
I suppose we could unpack what our perceived need is and see it from God's perspective. Since He is unlimited in resources and power, when we hold that need under His lamp, His light, we see it for what it really is. It no longer holds power over us in the form of worry or doubt or, God forbid, self-pity.
What we truly need is Jesus. We need His Presence, His love, His comfort, His promises, His perfect peace.
"But Jesus," you may be thinking, "what about such and such?" What about it? Is anything to difficult for our God to fix, resolve, heal, or provide? The answer is no. Nothing is either impossible or too difficult for God. Nothing.
So we wait. We wait to receive His peace, His comfort as we turn to Him in trust and faith that He has it all worked out for us.
I have also found that when I feel those feelings of lack and I go and bless someone else instead of focusing on myself, I am blessed.
We are to keep giving even when we feel like we are the needy ones. Yes, this too is possible in God's economy of grace and faithfulness.

And be encouraged, dear heart! We belong to a loving, good, and generous God! Alleluia!
Oh Lord. How vast are Your riches How awesome Your provision. Each season, no matter how difficult or seemingly wanting, has a beautiful purpose in Your good plan for us. Help us to lean on You, look to You, and trust You. For we truly want for nothing when we have You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
