Are you a member of any rewards programs? I am. It's fun to receive bonuses and offers simply for being a good customer. You know the ones I mean, a discount offer, something for free, and other special perks. Who doesn't enjoy these rewards? But did you know that Jesus offers us eternal rewards that never spoil, fade, or perish? I want in on that program! Of course, it is not a program at all. But there are definitely awesome rewards. But you need patience to wait for them, and lots of faith to know that they are waiting for you, because they won't be revealed this side of heaven. Some of the rewards we can look forward to: Loving our enemies. Cha-ching! Forgiving those who hurt us. Cha-ching! Obeying God no matter what. Cha-ching! Seeking Jesus daily. Cha-ching! Trusting God more than self. Cha-ching! Believing in God's goodness during the hard times. Cha-ching! Knowing God. Cha-ching! Choo...
Admit defeat and win?! That statement doesn’t make sense! Or does it? When we surrender to God, admit that we cannot win against the spiritual principalities in our own strength, then He comes in and wins for us. That is the only way to victory in the Christian life! But first, we must acknowledge that we are no match for the devil, the enemy of our souls, when it comes to spiritual warfare. That is a job for Christ, for only He is the Victor. Our Lord made a spectacle of the devil when He died for us on the cross. Satan was defeated then and there. Alleluia! So though the devil is still active in this world (duh), think of him as always trying but never winning. That is the great deception that he offers the world - that he can still take God’s place. He is already defeated. But millions around the world do not know this, and that is how he gets into people’s hearts and lives, unknowingly. So when we admit that we cannot slay our Goliaths, but in the...
This is my song based on various Scripture verses about who we are in Christ. It's fun, upbeat, and will stick with you. Remember who you are at all times!
God is at work in the world. He has many ways that He gets His work done. God does not "need" our help. God is God! But one of the way He chooses to accomplish His will on the earth is through us. Yes, us! Weak, fallible, messed up humans. God partners with us to get His work done in the world. However, His work is not only outer accomplishments. There is a foundational, deeper work that God is doing: heart work. God is in the process of transforming our hearts so that we may glorify Him. We have nothing to offer in and of ourselves. When we are born again, at least we have a chance! How? It is through the supernatural power and work of the Holy Spirit that resides in us who gets all the glory, all the credit, for any holy work that we do, outer and inner. I have seen and learned that the outer work is the easier of the two. Even the heathen can go about doing good works. But the inner work of heart transformation i...
The End Times are not the same thing as the Last Days. We've been in the Last Days since Jesus died and rose again. The End Times include the Great Tribulation and all that leads up to it. People throughout the ages have thought, "This is it! The world is coming to an end!" World events, natural disasters, wars and such have all led people to believe that God's will was coming about in the form of the End Times. I'm not here to argue the timing of Christ's second coming - His coming before, during, or after the Great Tribulation. I am here to hopefully help you prepare in case we are facing the End! Here's a non-exhaustive list of what I think it's going to take to be a true Christian in the End Times: 1. Stay close to Jesus (if you're not saved yet, get saved today! Ask Jesus into your heart) 2. Pray a lot 3. Understand that as the world gets worse, we are not to despair but know that everything that happens is under God's absolute power...
